Summary: Working full-time in the IBM mainframe operating system arena, since 1976. I have experience in most areas related to the infrastructure of the data center. I came up the ranks from operations through technical-support to systems programming. At one time or another I have worked with almost all of the IBM mainframe (and OEM compatible) Operating Systems that run on their biggest iron. At various times I have been responsible for the installation, upgrade, configuration and support of the software and hardware of the following functional areas:
Most of my employers/clients have been major financial institutions such as banks, insurance and brokerage (institutional/retail) houses. The primary exception was when I was employed at an IBM compatible CPU manufacturer Amdahl but most of my clients had these same characteristics.
More recently I have been working with the internet and desktop world as an independent where I have done some web hosting and system administration work. Unfortunately due to economic conditions and the inability of some contracted vendors to deliver certain functions, some personal projects were unable to come to fruition.
I am currently available on a contract or possibly employment basis to cover any of the mentioned areas. My background could be especially helpful for a company currently going through a disaster recovery or relocation situation.
